Has Forbes become the rich guy's Mad Magazine?... with James Taylor playing Alfred E. Neuman?

James Taylor has written another one of his bizarre climate opinion pieces for Forbes Magazine.  Watts up with that anyways... I always heard Forbes was a decent magazine?
Still month after month I hear about, then read, this guy's off-the-wall, paranoia and conspiracy soaked stories.
James' dislike for serious scientists is palpable.
Worse he has no integrity, shamelessly spewing contrived nonsense that'd make any disinterested high school drop-out proud.
Taylor's obvious lack of understanding for our "global heat distribution engine" is appalling - In this blog I will try to confront his lies with videos that provide many basic primers to various aspects that Forbes' Taylor chooses to misrepresent.  Of course there's more to learn, but the resources are many - all that's require is the will and interest
I am reposting James Taylors' complete article in courier font my response will be in blue.

The Global Warmists' Last Line Of Defense: The Warming Must Be In The Bermuda Triangle

Where is all the rapidly accelerating global warming that is supposed to be gripping the world?
It’s not in the air. Atmospheric temperature readings show global temperatures have been flat for more than a decade.

It’s not in the upper ocean. Sea surface temperature readings similarly show no recent warming.

It’s not in the polar ice caps. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellite data show polar ice is currently more extensive than the long-term average.

Here Taylor tosses out a very uninformative graph and makes an indefensible claim.

Yes heat is definitely going into such global heat engine dynamics such as melting the polar ice cap; warming the arctic ocean; introducing totally new heat transfer and convection dynamics to the newly exposed polar ocean heat-absorbtion-plate.

Global warming activists have finally come up with a last line of defense they know nobody will able to prove wrong: The missing global warming is in the Bermuda Triangle.
What "last line of defense"?
There's plenty of proof of continued warming

No, I am not kidding. This is what they are claiming. You see, the alarmists have been telling us for decades that rapidly accelerating global warming was imminent and unavoidable. The problem for the alarmists is the warming that has occurred has been modest and decelerating. In fact, it has ground to a complete halt for more than a decade.
Taylor completely distorts what scientists know and don't know.  It is down right juvenile for Taylor to pretend that scientists ever predicted sky-rocketing temperatures, but as any economist and business savvy person is supposed to know compounding interest is a tremendous force.  Temperature does not need to sky rocket to cause big problem.

Why not consider a fair summation of what was known back in 1988.

So how do Al Gore, Michael Mann and the rest of the global warming Chicken Little’s save face when their promised global warming apocalypse fails to occur? Easy, blame it on the Bermuda Triangle.“Where did global warming go? The deep ocean, experts say,” claimed NBC News in an April 11 headline.“Where’s the heat? In the oceans!” USA Today claimed in a headline the same day.
This is such a transparent circus.  What James Taylor offer's, on behalf of Forbes, is the sort of ranting you'd expect from a high school dropout who's raging against the instructors who flunked his lazy, disinterested butt.
The headlines reflect a prominent global warming activist claiming that he developed a computer model by which global warming can bypass the atmosphere, bypass the upper ocean, and be entirely hidden in the deep ocean; you know, that part of our planet where we really can’t measure or find anything. The missing global warming is apparently hanging out at the underwater space alien base in the heart of the Bermuda Triangle, along with the missing files proving the 9/11 Truthers are right that George W. Bush bombed the World Trade Center, along with the Vast Rightwing Conspiracy files proving that Bill Clinton really did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky, and along with the missing film footage proving the seven Apollo astronauts and two Johnson Space Center directors who claim global warming is not a crisis really did stage their moon landings on a vacant lot somewhere in the Arizona desert.
This is utter infantile stuff, why does Forbes Magazine allow Taylor to get away with such crazy making?

Here, take a look at the sort of stuff this Forbes Magazine should be informing it's readers about:

135 Years of Global Ocean Warming - Perspectives on Ocean Science

The global warming activists, of course, do their best to make their Bermuda Triangle defense sound scientific. The paper claims all this phantom global warming really can directly bypass the atmosphere and the upper ocean if winds start blowing strangely enough and strongly enough to bury the warming deep in the ocean. Thankfully, we can spare ourselves the dizzying asserted logic of such claims by examining recent global sea surface wind data. As Bermuda Triangle-busting science would have it, NASA satellite instruments show global sea surface wind speeds have declined rather than increased during the past decade
Our planet's atmosphere and oceans and land masses create a global heat distribution engine.  Taylor seems absolutely ignorant, - worse, he reveals a total disinterest in learning about it.  Instead he'd rather scream distracting nonsense while throwing sand in everyone's eyes, so to speak.

As for a little realism here's a nice short lesson regarding our oceans' role in our Global Heat Distribution Engine:

. So much for the Bermuda Triangle….
Here Taylor comes with his "Bermuda Triangle" again. . .  ironically, or not, Taylor believes the Bermuda Triangle has moved to the Pacific... though when one lives in a fantasy land anything is possible.

However, we live on a real planet with a real atmosphere and ocean that are in constant motion, these are major drivers of our global heat distribution engine.  Instead of slamming his ears shut, Mr. Taylor would have done better to pay attention to that NBC news article he linked to:

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
NBC news:  "It turns out there is a spectacular change in the surface winds which then get reflected in changing ocean currents that help to carry some of the warmer water down to this greater depth," Trenberth said. "This is especially true in the tropical Pacific Ocean and subtropics."
The change in winds and currents, he added, appears related to a pattern of climate variability called the Pacific Decadal Oscillation which in turn is related to the frequency and intensity of the El Niño/La Niña phenomenon, which impacts weather patterns around the world.
The oscillation shifted from a positive stage to a negative stage at the end of the extraordinarily large El Niño in 1997 and 1998. The negative stage of the oscillation is associated more with La Niñas, which is when the tropical Pacific Ocean is cooler and absorbs heat more readily, Trenberth explained.
"So, some of this heat may come back in the next El Niño event … but some of it is probably contributing to the warming of the overall planet, the warming of the oceans. … It means that the planet is really warming up faster than we might have otherwise expected," he said.

Nevertheless, it has been quite interesting watching the alarmists go into conniptions imploring us to trust them on this final last line of defense. “No, you can’t objectively verify our claims, but you can’t objectively disprove the Bermuda Triangle either,” the alarmists argue. “Just trust us. And if you do, as a bonus, we’ll show you the secret undersea living quarters of Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison.”
Why do people buy such transparent nonsense?
And why does Forbes Magazine support James Taylor's fraud?

This society driven global warming situation isn't a game!
Please take a few moments to consider what we are playing with here and the implications of continuing to ignore what we already know.
